    About David-Paul

    who is your teacher?

"He's a good egg, in a very weird omelette." -Jeanmarie Simpson, BroadwayWorld

David-Paul (fka Paul Kolecki) stems from Cleveland, Ohio where he started his singing career studying voice at Cleveland State University and as section leader at St. John the Evangelist Cathedral and Park Synagogue. From there, he headed south to Columbus to study with Robin Rice and sing at St. Joseph's Cathedral. He did a year of graduate studies at Manhattan School of Music and was a freelance singer, primarily singing at Christ Church Bay Ridge, Stephen Wise Free Synagogue,  and St. Clement's Theater Church in Manhattan. He's composed a choral mass setting, several psalm settings, and other choral works as well as a one act musical. His works have been performed at the ASU Newman Center in Tempe, AZ (where he was section leader and soloist), St. Maria Goretti in Scottsdale, AZ, St. Clement's in Manhattan, and Christ Church Bay Ridge.

He was a company member at Space 55 in Phoenix, AZ, performing as Nick in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Vincent in Ear, among other rolls. His acting teachers include Brandy Hotchner, Barbara Poitier, and Andy Gale.

His students have appeared on Broadway, TV, and radio across the country. His teaching combines traditional and contemporary, brain entrainment, visualization, and neuro linguistic programming to help his students achieve their goals with ease and in short-time. He's released several electronica albums and singles under BGX Music and is currently composing a theater piece for two singers and chamber orchestra.

He loves to hike through the southwest, especially Arizona where he lived before relocating to Los Angeles. He's always had an interest in spirituality, psychology, and the principles of quantum physics. David-Paul enjoys aesthetic bodybuilding and fitness and you'll often find him taking jazz technique class as well as hip hop and pop dancing. His favorite genres of music are EDM (esp Wuki and Excision), jazz (esp Charles Mingus, Snarky Puppy, and Dave Brubeck), classical (esp JS Bach), and rock n roll (esp Elton John, Extreme, and Led Zeppelin).

He teaches online and in-person and sings around greater Los Angeles.
